Brenda first became aware of her health about 32 years ago. She didn't realize at that time how important a good diet, good supplements and a good mental and emotional outlook were. By the time she realized these things were important she had already begun an ulcer, was close to a nervous breakdown and was addicted to over-the-counter laxatives. Additionally, she suffered from ulcerated colitis, chronic back pain and chronic hives on her arms and legs. She decided to take responsibility for her health and began a healing process she would never have imagined could be possible.
Brenda has focused her attention on healing all parts of her being. She has learned how to take care of her emotional, physical and spiritual being. She has learned how to express ALL that SHE IS and has been developing her knowledge, self-confidence and awareness. Brenda's Purpose in Life Is To Teach Others How To Heal Their Mind, Body and Spirit. Brenda intends to devote herself to this process and in so doing will gain empowerment to continue her growth as an emotional, physical and spiritual human being! Brenda was certified as a Comprehensive Iridology Instructor for level I and II by the International Iridology Practitioner's Association (IIPA) in April 2020 and for level III in August 2021, as well as in Iridology by Dr. Bernard Jensen in 1987. She was certified by the American Association of Nutritional Consultants as a Certified Nutritional Consultant and as a Certified Herbalist by Dr. Jim Jenks in 1990, respectively. Brenda has been practicing Iridology, Nutritional Consulting and Herbalism through Joyful Living Services in the Sacramento area for the past 21 years and in the Bay Area for 12 years prior to that. She has consulted in the Natural Vision Center as well as the Sutter Chiropractic Center in San Francisco and has shared an office with a massage therapist in Alameda. She currently works out of her office in Auburn, California. Brenda has recently been an invited speaker for the following organizations:

It is a great honor that I was awarded the Professor O'Brian Educational Mentoring Award by the International Iridology Practitioner's Association at the IIPA Convention last weekend on February 24, 2024. This is an award on behalf of my recognition to mentor IIPA Instructors. I am so honored and blessed to be an IIPA Instructor. I can honestly say that "I LOVE MY JOB!"
Brenda was certified as a Naturopath by the California Naturopathic Certification Board (CNCB) in March 2023.
Brenda earned the "Instructor of the Year Award" from the International Iridology Practitioner's Association in February 2022.
Brenda is currently teaching the IIPA level I and II Core Curriculum Iridology Courses as well as the Advanced level III course. She sees clients in her office in Auburn on a regular basis by appointment only and offers remote iridology sessions daily.
Brenda's school, Joyful Living Services, is an Approved Sanctioned School by the International Iridology Practitioner's Association.
Brenda has been both an invited speaker and participant at the 2012 International Iridology Practitioner's Association (IIPA) Conference in Las Vegas. She is a Certified Comprehensive Iridologist and Instructor through IIPA since February 2018.
