Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
I was sitting here trying to decide what to write for February. There are so many topics I "could" write about. I could write about what Valentine's Day means and about Love. I could write about all the Immune issues people are having these days and how sick people have been with all the stomach and respiratory flues that are going around. I could write about how important it is to do a cleanse right about this time of year before spring and summer comes. I could even write about how important it is to grow your own organic food and raise your own hormone free meat.
What I think is really the most important is our family, friends, and our health.
Where would we be without family?
Family to me makes life worth living. Without my family I think I would be lost. Of course I would survive. I would do what I would need to do to survive. But my family makes life joyful. Even though we have our rough spots, we still love each other and support each other every day. We make plans together and we celebrate together. I am very thankful for the wonderful family I have. I'm thankful for my wonderful husband and my super great kids. I'm thankful for my parents and how they raised me. I'm so happy I chose them to be my parents. I'm also very thankful that I have a wonderful brother. Even though we are so very different from each other, we still manage to get along and work out our differences. I'm also thankful for my extended family including my brother-in-law and sister-in-laws, mother-in-laws, father-in-law, cousins, nieces, and everyone else in my family that I am in contact with. We all have our own lives and we share a little part of that during the holidays and any other time we can get together. It's such a blessing to have family.
Friends Make Life Sweeter
How many friends do you have? Are you the type of person who likes to have a lot of people around you or are you a one-on-one type of person? I've always been a one-on-one type of person when it comes to my closest friends and I also like having parties where a lot of my friends can come and share a part of their life with me. I like having a lot of people who have the same ideas around me and it gives me joy to share my life with people I consider to be my friends.
Health
Without good health we are pretty much miserable all the time. Aches and pains every day grind on us and make us depressed and grumpy. Illness is not a fun thing at all. It's the one thing that happens to us that "we think we have no control over" but in reality we really do have control over it.
Someone told me the other day that she's tired of running to the doctor. My first response was "we use herbs". My first thought was "if you are tired of running to the doctors then why don't you learn about herbs so you can work with yourself and your family and keep them well rather than waiting for them to become sick and then have to run to the doctors for antibiotics and other medications?" I didn't say that but I was thinking that. This person is someone who knows me well and knows that I deal with herbs. Her husband has an immune problem that he blames on herbs and vitamins. That I just don't understand. These people are not open to alternative health so far. Maybe someday they will learn that they do not have to be "afraid" of working with their body. Maybe someday they will learn to take responsibility for their own health and realize that they don't have to run to the doctors every time they are sick.
You know, the body is not such a scary thing to take care of. I really believe that is why people go to the doctor. I think that people are scared that if they don't go to the doctor when they have an infection that they will get really sick and die. I think people don't know there is another way and that the other way is natural remedies.
